Community Agreements
Welcome to our community! Please read through our community agreements carefully. To ensure you've actually read and understood all of our community agreements, we require you to find two hidden words within the text below. This is our way of making sure everyone who joins has taken the time to read through our community values and guidelines.
Fat
This is a fat liberation space. We use "fat" as a neutral, reclaimed word.
- Don't promote intentional weight loss, weight loss surgery, or weight=health.
- You don't need to be fat to participate in this space but it is fat-liberation focused.
- Not everyone has the same learning or lived experience of fat liberation. We're a friendly group. Interact with compassion and understanding even when holding people accountable. The first secret is belly. If you have a concern, talk to an admin.
Disability
This is a disability liberation space. We use "Crip" as a neutral, reclaimed word.
- Don't use ableist slurs, inspiration porn (e.g. videos of disabled people doing everyday things labeled as "inspiring"), or "special needs" language (e.g. "special needs" or "differently abled", "wheelchair-bound," "suffers from").
- Don't assume what accommodations people need or don't need - ask or let people self-advocate.
- You don't need to be disabled to participate in this space but it is disability justice focused.
- Some members are new to disability activism. Interact with compassion while holding people accountable.
Age
This is an age liberation space. We use "old" as a neutral, reclaimed word.
- Don't assume incompetence based on age, or dismiss experiences because someone is "too young" or "too old".
- You don't need to be a certain age (except over 18) to participate in this space but it is focused on old people.
- Some members are new to age liberation. Interact with compassion while holding people accountable.
Queer
This is a queer liberation space. We use "queer" as a reclaimed, umbrella term for LGBTQIA+ identities.
- Use the name and pronouns other users display on their profile.
- Don't assume anyone's sexuality, gender, or relationship style - let people self-identify.
- You don't have to be queer to participate in this space but it is queer liberation focused.
- This group centers queer and trans voices. Some members are new to queer liberation. Interact with compassion while holding people accountable.
Race, Ethnicity & Immigration
This space doesn't tolerate racism, xenophobia, or anti-immigrant rhetoric.
- Don't use racial slurs, unless you are reclaiming for yourself, in which case, only use for yourself.
- Don't ask people to speak for their entire race
- Don't ask about or share anyone's immigration status
- This group welcomes all backgrounds. Some members are learning. Interact with compassion while holding people accountable.
Consent
Approach people as humans first.
- Don't send unsolicited sexual messages, nude photos, or kink content without asking first. The second secret is cane.
- Don't assume consent based on someone's profile, photos, or previous conversations.
